Long Beach Mayor Garcia To Present Awards at Upcoming Long Beach Pro Futures Tournament


Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia and Long Beach Councilwoman for the Fifth District Stacy Mungo will take part in a trophy ceremony following the final match at the fourth annual Long Beach USTA Pro Circuit event presented by USTA Southern California being contested Jan. 6-14.

Mayor Garcia will present the check to the singles winner of the $25,000 tournament being played at El Dorado Park Tennis Center and Mungo will present the check to the singles runner-up.

“We are so excited that professional tennis is once again returning to Long Beach,” said Mungo, who represents the Fifth District where El Dorado Park is located. “I am especially looking forward to watching these young pros in action. Long Beach is an amazing tennis community with a rich history and tradition that continues with the Long Beach USTA Pro Futures tournament.”

Councilwoman Suzie Price, who represents the Third District of Long Beach where the Billie Jean King Tennis Center is located, will also take part in the finals presentation.
