21st Annual Southern California Wheelchair Sectional
Players from Arizona, Northern California, San Diego and the greater LA area competed in Open, A, B and C divisions at the Lakewood Tennis Center on June 3 & 4, 2017. The two day tournament welcomed new players as well as returning experienced players. There were no easy wins in any of the divisions as many matches went to the 3rd set Tiebreak to determine the winner.
One of the unique experiences in Wheelchair Tennis is the camaraderie of the players off the court. A special thanks goes to Jeffrey Lee and Andrew Lee who arrived early on Sunday and organized all of the sport wheelchairs for the competitors.
Thanks to Steve Weaver and Cari Buck for providing a free clinic on Sunday afternoon for new players.

31st Annual Southern California NTRP Sectional
Men and women from across Southern California tested their skills against similarly rated players in this year’s championship. NTRP tournament players accumulate Grand Prix points during the year which may lead to an invitation to the NTRP Grand Prix Masters for the top eight players in each division.

Wilson Fast4 Inland Empire Grand Prix
A new format tournament series was introduced in June that provides fun and competition in a one-day round robin format. Fast 4 uses No-Ad scoring, 4 – point games, and 4-game sets. 2 out of 3 sets complete the match. The Round Robin format provides lots of tennis for everyone in this 1-day event..
The kickoff was held at Canyon Crest Country Club in Riverside. Players competed at the 3.0, 3.5, 4.0 and 4.5 singles levels and combined ratings 7.0, 8.0 and 9.0 in doubles.
The series continues on July 1 in Temecula, July 15th in San Bernardino, and July 29th in Victorville. Players accumulate Grand Prix points for their matches. The Grand Finale for tournament winners and the highest point getters is on August 19th at the Canyon Crest Country Club in Riverside. Awards and a BBQ will cap off the day.
