Dear Senior Tennis Enthusiasts:
The Southern California Tennis Association will induct the Class of 2018 into the SCTA Senior Tennis Hall of Fame later this year. This is a great honor for the players selected, and this year we are giving the tennis community an opportunity to nominate worthy candidates for consideration. The criteria for selection are as follows:
PLAYER
• Must have reached the age of 60, or have been retired from competitive play for 5 years or more
• Career must have spanned a minimum of 10 years
• Must have had an outstanding record of tournament play in Southern California and/or Nationally
• Must have achieved a high ranking in Section and/or National lists
• Must have a record of sportsmanship, fairness and respect for opponents, with no record of disciplinary actions taken by any tennis body
• Must be clearly recognized as a Southern California player for the major portion of the playing career.
NON-PLAYER- (Players or non-players whose off-court tennis-related activity warrants consideration for the Senior Hall of Fame)
• Must have reached the age of 60
• Must have been in senior tennis related activity for 20 years or more
• Must have been a resident of Southern California for the major portion of their tennis activity
• Must have been involved as an Administrator, Tournament Director, Volunteer, Patron, Trainer, or Coach
Note: Posthumous nominations may be made using the same criteria.
Nominations must be submitted in writing. In order to be considered, names must be submitted by May 1. When submitting candidates, please mention why you think your candidate deserves to be included. The Selection Committee will gather as much extra information as possible, and will meet shortly after the deadline to consider all the nominations, and make the selections. Class of 2018 will be announced on the website in late May.
