The USTA recently announced the players selected to represent the United States in the Finals of the ITF World Junior Tennis Competition, and the USTA Southern California section is honored to send a very special Congratulations to So Cal’s own Katrina Scott.
This is not the 1st time the Woodland Hills resident has represented TEAM USA in international competition, back in January Scott was chosen to represent the US at one of the world’s top junior events, the 14-and-Under Les Petit As in France.
The team event takes place August 6-11, 2018 in Prostejov, Czech Republic. This event features the very best 14 and under junior players from all over the world. Each team sends three players to represent their country in the team finals. The U.S. qualified in April of this year by winning the North/Central American team qualifying in Mexico.
Katrina is in good company as former U.S. junior international team members include Jim Courier, Andy Roddick, James Blake, Lindsay Davenport, and Sloane Stephens. Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic also have represented their respective countries in junior international team competition.
Best of luck to Katrina Scott and the rest of TEAM USA (Reese Brantmeier – WI, Robin Miontgomery – Washington DC, Bruno Kuzuhara – FL, Voctor :I;ov – NC and Evan Wen – NJ) as they head off to the Czech Republic.
