USC to Host ITF World Tennis Tour $25,000 Event


The following are the first-round qualifying matches for the ITF World Tennis Tour event taking place on the campus of USC this week. The $25,000 tournament continues all week and admission is free.

On Semifinal Saturday, USC Men’s Tennis Coach Peter Smith will host a USPTA/PTR Coaches and Parent Clinic on Jan. 5 from 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Smith will speak on the topic of “Creating a Good College Player.”

Also on Saturday, there will be an SCTA Community Tennis Salute starting at 10:45 and honoring longtime SoCal tennis instructor Don Bly. Bly will be honored for his 40-plus years of volunteering and serving the tennis community.
