Casals/Gonzalez to host Kids Tennis Fiesta on September 29

Free tennis clinics will be the main attraction at the Rosie Casals & Pancho Gonzalez Kids Tennis Fiesta, scheduled for September 29 at Indian Wells Tennis Gardens. In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, the event will benefit Love & Love Tennis Foundation and the Pancho Foundation.

The Kids Tennis Fiesta will also recognize Charlie Pasarell, a co-founder of NJTL – National Junior Tennis and Learning, a network of community tennis organizations seeking to develop the character of young people through tennis and education, now in it’s 50th year. The Youth Latinas Ambassador Program will also be celebrated.

Rosemary “Rosie” Casals is a former World #3 and an International Tennis Hall of Famer (1996), a two time US Open singles finalist, and a nine-time Grand Slam doubles champion. She played on seven US Fed Cup championship teams. Pancho Gonzales won exactly 1250 singles matches during his pro career, with 111 titles and peaking at World #1 in 1952. He won the US Open in concurrent years beginning in 1948. In 1968 Conzalez was inducted to the International Tennis Hall of Fame.

The Setpember 29 Fiesta will include free clinics, contests, and prizes, beginning at 10am. A cocktail reception will be held at 6pm at Vicki’s of Santa Fe, Indian Wells.

Event sponsorships are also available at various levels ($100-$5000). To learn more about the Rosie Casals & Pancho Gonzalez Kids Tennis Fiesta, please visit lovelovetennisfoundation.com or contact sportswmn@aol.com.
