USTA Southern California is seeking a proactive Adult Social Tennis Coordinator to undertake a variety of administrative and program management tasks. This person will be an integral part of the Adult Tennis department with the primary focus of planning and running programs and events that help build our base of recreational tennis players. The Adult Social Tennis Coordinator will also assist in our competitive programs as needed.
The ideal candidate will be organized and detail-oriented with an entrepreneurial spirit, and able to manage the logistics of multiple projects simultaneously. Primary duties include building a social tennis community that appeals to adult players of all levels, organizing social tennis events for recreational and competitive players, with a particular emphasis on millennials, and increasing engagement in member-based and non-member programs. The Coordinator will manage the highly successful Tennis on Campus program, and build a presence throughout all of our competitive programs. The Coordinator will also be responsible for conducting sales calls to tennis facilities and prospective providers with the goal of building a sustainable social tennis network across Southern Cal
The qualified candidate will possess a broad knowledge of current USTA adult programs (League, Tournaments, Tennis On Campus, Sip ‘N Serve, Fast4, etc.), excellent client-facing and internal communication skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills. Marketing/Sales experience is desired in tandem with event management experience (tennis event management preferred).
This full time position includes standard weekday hours with regularly scheduled evening and weekend assignments. Some assignments will involve local travel throughout Southern California. A reliable vehicle is essential (mileage is reimbursed). Knowledge and experience with tennis is essential.
