Linda Milan has been named Chief Operating Officer of the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Southern California section, the organization announced today. She has also been tapped to run the recently re-invigorated Southern California Tennis Association Foundation.
Milan has been with the USTA Southern California section for 14 years and brings a wealth of knowledge with her to this new position.
In 2005, following an exceptional career in management with AT&T, Milan came on board at the SCTA as the coordinator for both the Tennis on Campus and the NTRP programs. She also ran player services during the Los Angeles Open, the ATP Professional men’s tennis event owned and operated by the SCTA. From there Milan was promoted to the position of Director of Support Services, managing the day to day office operations and overseeing the support staff as well as the Marketing team. In January 2017, Milan returned to the Adult Tennis Department as the Director of Adult Tennis, overseeing all adult tennis tournaments and programs including the hugely successful USTA league which hosts over 46,000 players. In November 2017, Milan answered the call from the SCTA Board to serve as the Interim Executive Director of the SCTA, a position she held for 15 months, overseeing the entire SCTA Operation.
Linda brings a wealth of experience within the USTA and SCTA to the position as well as extremely strong leadership skills.
“There is tremendous opportunity for not only growing the game of tennis itself here in Southern California, but also growing the SCTA brand awareness, and we are thrilled have Linda on board as Chief Operating Officer as we focus on really taking the SCTA to the next level,” said Chris Lewis, Chairman of the SCTA Board of Directors.
