The $25K Legends Long Beach concludes on Sunday as two USTA Pro Circuit stars reach their first Pro Circuit final of the young season, and one young American seeks to double up at the awards ceremony on Sunday.

Collin Altamirano (USA), a product of NorCal, reached the championship final with a win on Saturday over #3 Kaichi Uchida of Japan. Altamirano followed up Friday’s thrilling victory with a stunning 6-3, 6-2 straight set dispatch of Uchida, who was favored to reach Sunday’s culmination. That wasn’t the end for the former Boys 18s National Champion. Altamirano and doubles teammate, Notre Dame’s Alexander Lebedev (USA), were undenied in the semifinals as they defeated the tournament’s #2 seed, Satral/Pavic.

Altamirano/Lebedev will face the top seeds, Hans Hach (MEX) & Luke Bambridge (GBR), in the doubles final on Sunday. Ironically, Karue Sell (BRA) won both singles and doubles titles at USC/Los Angeles just one week ago.

But back the singles final, which pits Altamirano against Emilio Gomez (ECU), son of former French Open champion Andres Gomez. The Ecuadorian eliminated Yorba Linda’s JC Aragone in routine fashion on Saturday.

Sunday’s finals will begin with singles at 11am, followed by the doubles final (pending appropriate rest as necessary). Games are held at El Dorado Park Tennis Center in Long Beach.
