All tennis enthusiasts and volunteers are welcome to register for the annual Tennis Fest San Diego celebration on Sunday, May 7, from Noon to 4pm at Balboa Tennis Club. Free tennis clinics for adults and juniors of all levels will be taught by over 60 USPTA teaching pros. Over 1,000 residents can enjoy fun tennis, exhibition matches, prizes, t-shirts, entertainment and more. This year, baseball commentating legend Dick Enberg is being honored with the Ben Press Award for Lifetime Achievement by the San Diego District Tennis Association.
Also, event organizers are partnering with “Tennis Thanks the Troops” and ThanksUSA to raise money through a silent auction. Donations will go to educational scholarships for San Diego-based military families. Since 2012, Tennis Fest has raised over $20,000 for the cause.
Registration for this free event is preferred but not mandatory. This community celebration will give the first 800 people who register a complimentary t-shirt and goodie bag.
