The 130th Annual Meeting of the Southern California Tennis Association will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, February 6, 2017, in the Press Room at the Morgan Center on the campus of the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). At the gathering, the Southern California members of the United States Tennis Association (USTA) will elect the SCTA Board Directors for the 2017-2019 term, and SCTA Officers for 2017-2018 will also be elected at that time.
The SCTA Nominating Committee with Chair, Greg Hickey, Vice-Chair, Bob Kramer and members Liz Blum, Chris Boyer and Peggy Michel will submit a slate to the Board of Directors in December. The slate, along with proxy information, will be mailed to all organization members in early January 2017. All members are urged to return their proxies to the SCTA office as soon as possible to ensure a quorum is achieved, in order to conduct business and hold the election. (The Board of Directors will hold a regular meeting immediately following the Annual Meeting.)
That evening, the 2017 SCTA Annual Awards Banquet will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the Straus Clubhouse at the Los Angeles Tennis Center – UCLA. Members, players and organizations who offered extraordinary support, exemplary sportsmanship, program backing and community service will be recognized for their efforts during 2016.
Please help determine who the recipients will be. Make nominations in one or more categories. Each of the suggestions received will be reviewed by the SCTA Awards & Recognition Committee. Specific categories and descriptions of the awards can be found on the nomination form.
