For the fourth consecutive year, USC and El Dorado Park Tennis Center in Long Beach will host $25,000 USTA Pro Circuit Futures events to kick off the year.
The Southern California Pro Futures tournament will take place on the campus of USC Jan. 1-7 and the Long Beach USTA Pro Circuit presented by USTA Southern California being contested Jan. 8-14.
The player field will be announced soon. Last year, a pair of former UCLA Bruin NCAA singles champions won singles titles with Mackenzie McDonald taking home the USC championship and Marcos Giron getting the victory at Long Beach.
Long Beach Tournament director Brittnie Furuvald has announced several community events, including a Wilson Pro-Am that will take place on Sunday, Jan. 7 with the cost $200. USC Men’s Coach Peter Smith will host the event at El Dorado Park.

Thursday, Jan. 11: League Appreciation Day, Presented by Legends, Long Beach, 9:30 am-10:30 am; Learn doubles strategies from Coach Smith; Certified Health & Wellness Coach Hannah Holladay will share tips on re-energizing.
Friday, Jan. 12: Military Appreciation Day, Presented by Long Beach Wounded Warriors, 3 pm-4 pm. Wheelchair exhibition with pros and amateurs.
Saturday, Jan. 13: High Performance Clinic, Presented by SC Tennis Academy & USTA Net Generation, 10 am-11 am.
