CoCo Vandeweghe (Rancho Santa Fe) reached the finals of the WTA Elite Trophy event in China last weekend, falling in straight sets to Germany’s Julia Gorges. Vandeweghe heads now to Belarus for the Fed Cup final this weekend, alongside Sloane Stephens, Alison Riske, and Shelby Rogers.
Julia Boserup (Newport Beach) earned the doubles championship at the USTA Pro Circuit event in Tyler, Texas. In the same event, Ashley Kratzer (Newport Beach) reached a singles quarterfinal. Both will remain in the Lone Star state this week for the Waco Pro Circuit event, along with Kayla Day (Santa Barbara), Danielle Lao (Arcadia), and Nicole Gibbs (Santa Monica).
Asia Muhammad (Long Beach) was a doubles champion in Canberra, Australia at the ITF Pro Circuit event. She will stay Down Under for an ITF tournament in Bendigo this week.
Alexander Sarkissian (Glendale) reached the quarterfinals in Canberra, dropping a straight set match to Aussie Marc Polmans.
